The prominent regional law firm of DeCotiis, FitzPatrick & Cole, LLP has announced the addition of a new partner, Vincent M. Giblin, and effective immediately the firm’s name will be changed to DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, LLP.
Joseph DeCotiis, Managing Partner at DeCotiis, FitzPatrick, Cole & Giblin, expressed confidence that Giblin's addition will extend the reach and ability of the sixty-plus attorney firm in a constantly changing and challenging business environment.

A 20-year law veteran, Giblin regularly appears as trial counsel in state and federal courts. His experience includes handling complex federal litigation, white collar criminal defense and compliance matters for private corporate and not-for-profit organizations before civil and criminal government regulators, labor and employment matters, and complex ERISA benefits litigation. Giblin currently serves as the outside general counsel for the International Union of Operating Engineers.
Greg Lalevee, International Vice President of the International Union of Operating Engineers who represents over 450,000 members nationally and Business Manager of Local 825 representing New York and New Jersey, lauded the Teaneck-based law firm's new name partner.

Giblin is a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and served as a law clerk for the New Jersey District Court Judge Clarkson S. Fisher. Prior to beginning his private legal career, Giblin previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey. For his efforts at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Giblin received special recognition from the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was also bestowed the 2002 Administrator’s Award, one of the highest honors by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, for his outstanding achievement in law enforcement.
Giblin is the nephew of Assemblyman Thomas P. Giblin (D - 34th Legislative District), who also serves as the business manager of the 5,800-member Local 68 of the International Union of Operating Engineers, AFL-CIO. Assemblyman Giblin is the President of the Essex-West Hudson Labor Council, AFL-CIO. The Giblin family has longstanding ties to Newark, with the family's history deeply rooted in the city's Vailsburg section for generations.
